Good afternoon everyone.  I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself; my name is Jeff Peters and I am the Southeast Technical Advisor for WoodWorks.  WoodWorks is a non-profit organization that is an initiative of the Woods Product Council.

WoodWorks provides free one-on-one project assistance related to the code compliant design, engineering and construction of non-residential and multi-family wood buildings. We also offer a variety of continuing education opportunities including but not limited to local lunch and learns, lunch seminars and workshops. Please visit www.woodworks.org to learn more about how we can help design professionals achieve their goals.

I'd like to use this blog as an opportunity to let you know that I will be hosting a 2-hour Lunch Seminar in Orlando on March 10th and in Tampa on March 24th.  This presentation is entitled, “The Long and Short of Wood Roof Systems” It is an excellent presentation that explains the components in wood roof systems in a commercial application and highlights several projects that have pushed the limits.

We are an approved CEU provider of the Florida Board of Professional Engineers and this seminar will allow you to earn 2 PDH credits and an opportunity to enjoy lunch at Maggiano’s. Please visit our website to register for this event.  Click on "Education" then "Up Coming Events" to select your city and registration date.  As a FSEA member, you can use he coupon code "Jeff" to register for this event for free.

I look forward to meeting all of you and I hope to see you at one of my upcoming events.

Jeff Peters, P.E.
